How does homestop work?

Every other Wednesday homestop will advertise it’s empty properties for a 7-day period on this website.

Each advert will provide a short description of the property and details of the weekly rent, the landlord and who is eligible to apply. The advertising period will also allow customers adequate time to view available properties.

All you have to do is express an interest in your two favourite properties by submitting a bid.

Once all the adverts are closed and all the bids have been submitted a shortlist will be prepared for the landlord of each empty home.

If the landlord has not contacted you within 7 days you should assume that you have not been successful.

How to Place a Bid

If you have been registered on the “Housing Register” by Blackpool Council, you will have received a registration number. By using this number you will be able to logon to the website and register your interest in suitable properties.

STEP 1 – Click on login

STEP 2 – Enter your registration number

STEP 3 – Enter your date of birth in the correct format: d d/m m/y y y y

STEP 4 – A screen will appear with your details and 3 options:

SEARCH CONTACT US LOG OFF

STEP 5 – Click on “SEARCH” and a new page will appear for you to
enter your search criteria;

So for example if you are eligible for a one bed-roomed property – click on “please choose” and select “one bedroom”

If you are eligible for “Sheltered Accommodation” make sure that a tick is entered in the “sheltered” box

If you are only looking for a property on a specific road, enter the road name in “address” line

Then press SEARCH

STEP 6 – This will provide you with a list of the available properties that you are able to apply for. When you see a property in an area where you would like to live check the following;

“SHOW DETAILS” – will provide information specifically for that property and lets you check if it meets your requirements

“SHOW MAP” - will allow you see exactly where in Blackpool the property is and will allow you to print a map (if you have printing facilities)

“VIEW PROPERTIES” - will allow you to see internal pictures of the property (if applicable)

Once this is done and you have decided that you would like to apply for this property, click on “APPLY NOW” and your interest in the property will be registered

STEP 7 – If any of your circumstances have changed or any information that is displayed about is incorrect, please click on “CONTACT US” with the new information and the details will be sent to the relevant department

STEP 8 – When you have finished looking at the website, please make sure you log out by clicking on “LOG OUT”
